16mg Apoquel Tablets for Dogs – Targeted relief from itching

16mg Apoquel Tablets are prescription-only tablets for the control of acute and chronic pruritus in dogs. They are commonly prescribed for dogs with allergic skin disease, including atopic dermatitis, and are designed to reduce itch and inflammation so that the skin has a chance to recover.

Each 16mg tablet contains oclacitinib, an active ingredient that acts quickly on the pathways that trigger itching. This strength is usually used for medium to large dogs, according to the dosing regime set by the prescribing veterinary surgeon.

How 16mg Apoquel for Dogs works

Oclacitinib is a selective Janus kinase (JAK1) inhibitor. In simple terms, it interferes with specific chemical messengers (cytokines) that are involved in the itch and inflammation cycle of allergic skin disease. By blocking these signals, Apoquel helps to break the “itch–scratch” cycle that damages the skin.

16mg Apoquel targets cytokines such as those associated with allergy and pruritus, including the signals linked to the sensation of itch. It reduces both the urge to scratch and the associated redness and irritation of the skin. Apoquel 16mg has a rapid onset of action, and many dogs show a noticeable reduction in itching within a short period of starting treatment, often within the first day.

Because Apoquel works on specific pathways rather than suppressing the entire immune system, it offers more targeted control compared with some traditional therapies.

Semintra Oral Solution for Cats - 100ml

Semintra Oral Solution for Cats - 100ml

Semintra for Cats 100ml is a veterinary oral solution containing telmisartan. It is used in cats with chronic kidney disease (CKD) when the kidneys are allowing an abnormal amount of protein to leak into the urine. This protein loss is called proteinuria. Managing proteinuria matters because it can be associated with faster progression of kidney damage in some cats. Your vet will diagnose CKD using blood and urine tests and may recommend Semintra as part of a longer-term management plan.

Semintra is supplied as a liquid so it can be measured accurately for each cat’s body weight. The 100ml bottle is often chosen when ongoing daily dosing is expected, but the most appropriate pack size depends on the prescribed dose and your vet’s instructions.

How Semintra works

Telmisartan acts on a hormone pathway called the renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system (RAAS). The RAAS influences blood pressure and blood flow through the kidneys. In CKD, this system can contribute to increased pressure within the kidney’s microscopic filters (the glomeruli). Higher pressure can push more protein through the filter and into the urine.

Telmisartan blocks the angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor. By blocking this pathway, Semintra can help reduce pressure in the glomeruli and lower the amount of protein that passes into the urine. The aim is to reduce ongoing strain on the kidneys. Semintra does not cure CKD, but it can support kidney care where proteinuria is present.

Senvelgo for Cats with Diabetes - 12ml

Senvelgo for Cats with Diabetes - 12ml

Senvelgo for Cats is a prescription medication used for the treatment of Diabetes in Cats. It is a once-daily liquid formula that helps regulate blood glucose levels without the need for insulin injections.

Senvelgo is suitable for cats diagnosed with stable diabetes and is administered orally using the syringe provided. Diabetes in Cats is a chronic metabolic disorder commonly seen in older or overweight cats. It occurs when the body is either unable to produce enough insulin or cannot effectively use the insulin it does produce. Insulin is a hormone necessary for the body to regulate blood sugar (glucose) levels. Without sufficient insulin action, glucose cannot enter the cells properly and begins to accumulate in the bloodstream. This leads to a variety of health issues if not managed appropriately.

How Senvelgo works

Senvelgo works differently to insulin injections. It reduces the reabsorption of glucose by the kidneys. Normally, the kidneys filter glucose and then reclaim most of it back into the bloodstream. Senvelgo reduces this reclaiming effect, so more glucose is passed out of the body in the urine. By increasing urinary glucose loss, blood glucose can fall and diabetic signs can improve.

Because more glucose is present in urine, some effects can follow. Urine volume can increase and thirst can remain increased, particularly early on. Diabetes itself also causes increased thirst and urination, which is why follow-up and testing remain important. Your vet may check hydration and kidney parameters before and during treatment.

Senvelgo contains the active ingredient velagliflozin, a selective sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor. It works by increasing the amount of glucose excreted in the urine, thereby lowering blood sugar levels. By helping to reduce hyperglycaemia without directly increasing insulin levels, Senvelgo provides an alternative approach to diabetes management in cats.

Senvelgo is not a form of insulin and does not replace insulin in all cases. It is designed for use in cats who are able to maintain stable blood sugar levels without insulin or as advised by a veterinary professional. Its once-daily oral administration makes it a convenient option for pet owners who may find injections challenging or stressful for their cat.

Each 12ml bottle of Senvelgo is supplied with a dosing syringe that allows for accurate administration. The dosage is determined by a veterinarian based on your cat’s weight and specific condition. It is important to follow the dosing instructions carefully to ensure effective management of the disease. Senvelgo should be given directly into the cat’s mouth and not mixed with food or water.

Semintra Oral Solution 10mg/ml - 35ml

Semintra Oral Solution 10mg/ml - 35ml

Semintra Oral Solution (10mg/ml) is a prescription veterinary medicine used to treat systemic hypertension (high blood pressure) in cats. It is supplied as an oral liquid in a RED 35ml bottle so the dose can be measured accurately for each cat. Your vet will decide whether Semintra is appropriate and will advise on dosing, monitoring, and follow-up checks.

Semintra is available in different strengths for different uses. This 10mg/ml formulation is intended for managing systemic hypertension, so it is important to follow the prescription label and confirm you have been supplied with the correct product.

What is Semintra Oral Solution

Semintra contains telmisartan. Telmisartan belongs to a group of medicines called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs). These medicines act on a natural hormone pathway that influences blood pressure. By modifying this pathway, telmisartan helps reduce persistently high blood pressure and lowers the risk of complications that can occur when hypertension is left untreated.

How Semintra works

Angiotensin II is a hormone that causes blood vessels to narrow and encourages the body to retain salt and water. Both effects can increase blood pressure. Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II at specific receptors, which allows blood vessels to relax and widen. When blood vessels widen, resistance in the circulation reduces and blood pressure can fall.

The same hormone pathway affects blood flow within the kidneys. High blood pressure can damage kidney blood vessels, and kidney disease can contribute to raised blood pressure. For many cats, hypertension and chronic kidney disease occur together. Controlling blood pressure helps reduce ongoing strain on organs that are sensitive to pressure changes.

5.4mg Apoquel Tablet - Single Tablet

5.4mg Apoquel Tablet - Single Tablet

Apoquel 5.4mg tablets contain oclacitinib, a veterinary medicine used in dogs to control itching (pruritus) associated with allergic skin disease. Apoquel is commonly prescribed for dogs with allergic dermatitis, including canine atopic dermatitis, where inflammation and itch can become persistent. The 5.4mg strength is selected by a veterinary surgeon based on your dog’s bodyweight and treatment plan.

What Apoquel 5.4mg is used for

Apoquel is used to help control:
• Acute pruritus (sudden onset itching) linked to allergic dermatitis.
• Chronic pruritus (long-term or recurring itching) linked to allergic dermatitis, including canine atopic dermatitis.

Itching is a symptom rather than a diagnosis. A veterinary assessment is important to identify likely triggers, check for parasites or infection, and decide whether Apoquel is appropriate.

How Apoquel works

Allergic skin problems in dogs are driven by chemical messengers in the immune system. These messengers, often called cytokines, help coordinate inflammation and the sensation of itch. In allergic dermatitis, this signalling can become overactive, leading to redness, irritation, and scratching.

Oclacitinib works by targeting specific signalling pathways inside immune cells known as Janus kinases (JAKs). By reducing JAK-dependent signalling, Apoquel helps lower the activity of itch-promoting and inflammation-promoting cytokines. This can reduce the urge to scratch and can calm skin inflammation, which helps break the itch–scratch cycle that can damage the skin barrier.

Because it acts on immune signalling, Apoquel does not remove allergens from the environment, and it does not treat the root cause of parasites or infection. It is often used alongside an overall plan that may include flea control, skin care, diet management, and treatment of secondary bacterial or yeast infection where needed.
