Description

Advantage for Small Dogs, Cats/Rabbits

Advantage is an effective and safe treatment for fleas and biting lice on dogs, cats and rabbits. Available as a spot on, it is easy to apply. Advantage can be used on cats and dogs from 8 weeks of age, and on rabbits from 10 weeks.

Advantage is a clear yellow to slightly brownish free-flowing non-aqueous solution containing 10 % w/v imidacloprid. Advantage is presented in a single use plastic tube for cutaneous (spot-on) treatment in dogs, cats and pet rabbits. Each tube contains 0.4 ml (40 mg imidacloprid), 1.0 ml (100 mg imidacloprid), 2.5 ml (250 mg imidacloprid), 4.0 ml (400 mg imidacloprid), 0.4 ml (40 mg imidacloprid), 0.8 ml (80 mg imidacloprid), 0.4 ml (40 mg imidacloprid) and 0.8 ml (80 mg imidacloprid) respectively as listed above. Advantage also contains 0.1% butylated hydroxytoluene (E321) as a preservative.

Uses
Advantage is used for the prevention and treatment of flea infestations on cats and dogs, and for the treatment of biting lice (Trichodectes canis) on dogs. Advantage can also be used for the treatment of flea infestations on pet rabbits. Fleas are killed within one day following treatment with Advantage. One treatment prevents further flea infestation on dogs for up to four weeks, three to four weeks on cats and up to one week on pet rabbits. The product can be used as part of a treatment strategy for flea allergy dermatitis in the cat and the dog. The treatment should be repeated after 4 weeks. (Dogs) In case of biting louse infestation, a further veterinary examination 30 days after treatment is recommended as some animals may require a second treatment.

Re-infestation from emergence of new fleas in the environment may continue to occur for six weeks or longer after treatment is initiated. More than one treatment may therefore be required, depending on the level of fleas in the environment. To aid reduction in environmental challenge, the additional use of a suitable household treatment against adult fleas and developing stages is recommended. In order to reduce further the environmental challenge, it is recommended that all cats, dogs and rabbits in the household are treated. In recent studies, in addition to the adulticide flea efficacy of imidacloprid, a larvicidal flea efficacy in the surroundings of the treated pet has been demonstrated. Larval stages in the pet’s surroundings are killed following contact with a treated animal.

Advantage remains effective if the animal becomes wet, for example after exposure to heavy rain or after swimming (dogs). However, re-treatment may become necessary, depending on the presence of fleas in the environment. In these cases do not treat more frequently than once weekly.

Method of Administration
Remove one pipette from the package. Hold pipette in an upright position, twist and pull off cap. Use reversed cap to twist and remove seal from pipette. Part the hair on the pet’s neck at the base of the skull until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and squeeze firmly several times to empty the contents directly onto the skin. For dogs up to 25kg With the dog in the standing position, part the coat between the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and squeeze firmly several times to empty the contents directly onto the skin. For dogs of more than 25 kg For easy application the dog should be standing. The entire contents of the pipette should be applied evenly as 3 or 4 spots along the top of the back, from between the shoulders to the base of the tail. At each spot, part the coat until the skin is visible. Wherever possible apply to undamaged skin. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and gently squeeze the pipette to expel a portion of its contents directly onto the skin. Do not apply an excessive amount of solution at any one spot, as that could cause some of the product to run down the animals side. It is particularly important to apply the dose to an area where it cannot be licked off. Correct application will minimise the opportunity for the animal to lick off the product. Apply only to undamaged skin. Do not allow recently treated animals to groom each other. Use During Pregnancy and Lactation Treatment of nursing bitches and queens controls flea infestation on both the dam and offspring. No reproductive toxic effects have been observed in rats and no primary embryotoxic or teratogenic toxic effects have been observed during the studies on rats and rabbits. Studies on pregnant and lactating bitches, queens and does together with their offspring are limited. Evidence so far indicates that no adverse effects are to be expected in these animals.

Contra-indications, warnings, etc.
Do not treat unweaned puppies and kittens of less than 8 weeks of age or pet rabbits of less than 10 weeks of age. This product is for topical use and should not be administered orally. Do not allow recently treated animals to groom each other. Do not use on rabbits intended for human consumption. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients contained in this product. Care should be taken to avoid the contents of the tube coming into contact with the eyes or mouth of the user or recipient animal. The product is bitter tasting and salivation may occasionally occur if the animal licks the application site immediately after treatment. This is not a sign of intoxication and disappears after a short time without treatment. In very rare occasions skin reactions such as hair loss, redness, itching and skin lesions may occur. Agitation has also been reported. Excessive salivation and nervous signs such as incoordination, tremors and depression have been reported exceptionally in cats and dogs. In dogs no adverse clinical signs were produced by either individual doses of up to 200 mg/kg body weight (five to eight times the therapeutic dose), daily treatments at 100 mg/kg body weight for five consecutive days or weekly treatments at five times the maximum dose rate for eight consecutive weeks. In cats, no adverse clinical signs were produced using doses of five times the therapeutic level for eight consecutive weeks. In rabbits, no adverse clinical signs were seen using doses of up to 45 mg/kg body weight (4 times the therapeutic level) weekly for 4 consecutive weeks. Poisoning following inadvertent oral uptake in either man or animals is unlikely. In this event, treatment should be symptomatic. There is no known specific antidote but administration of activated charcoal may be beneficial. No incompatibility has been observed between this product at twice the recommended dose and the following commonly used veterinary products: lufenuron, pyrantel and praziquantel (cats). The compatibility of the product was also demonstrated with a wide range of routine treatments under field conditions including vaccination. The solvent in this product may stain certain materials including leather, fabrics, plastics and finished surfaces. Allow the application site to dry before permitting contact with such materials. Operator Safety Wash hands thoroughly after use. Wash off any skin contamination with soap and water. After application do not stroke or groom animals until the application site is dry (typically within an hour or so). People with known skin sensitivity may be particularly sensitive to the product. This product contains benzyl alcohol and may cause skin sensitisation or transient skin reactions (for example allergy, irritation, tingling). Avoid contact between the product and the eyes or mouth. If the product gets into eyes accidentally, the eyes should be thoroughly flushed with water. If skin or eye irritation persists, or if the product is accidentally swallowed, obtain medical attention. Do not eat, drink or smoke during application. Pharmaceutical precautions Store away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs. No special precautions for storage. After use, replace cap on tube. Any unused veterinary medicinal product or waste materials should be disposed of in accordance with local requirements.

Fureze for Cats: Hairball Prevention Supplement

Help prevent and manage hairballs with Fureze for Cats

Fureze for Cats is a specially formulated supplement designed to reduce the formation of hairballs and support your cat's digestive health. Hairballs are a common issue in cats, especially those with longer fur or those who groom frequently. These compacted masses of ingested fur can cause discomfort, digestive issues, and in severe cases, blockages in the digestive tract.

Fureze works by promoting the natural passage of hair through your cat's digestive system, reducing the likelihood of hairballs forming. It contains a combination of ingredients that lubricate the digestive tract and help the body process and eliminate hair more efficiently. With regular use, Fureze can help keep your cat comfortable, preventing the distress that hairballs can cause.

How Fureze for Cats Works

Supports Natural Hair Passage through the Digestive System
Fureze for Cats is designed to support your cat’s natural digestive processes by helping ingested hair pass through the digestive tract smoothly. The ingredients in Fureze act as a gentle lubricant for the intestines, making it easier for the body to move hair along and prevent it from accumulating in the stomach. As the hair passes more easily through the intestines, it is expelled with regular waste, preventing the formation of problematic hairballs.

This is especially beneficial for long-haired breeds such as Persians or Maine Coons, as well as cats that groom excessively. By reducing the build-up of fur in the stomach, Fureze minimises the risk of hairballs and promotes a healthier digestive system.

Gentle Formula for Daily Use
Fureze is formulated to be safe for daily use, making it a simple addition to your cat’s regular care routine. Administering Fureze is straightforward: it can be given directly or added to your cat's food. This makes it easy for pet owners to ensure their cats receive consistent support for hairball management. The product is highly palatable, ensuring that even the fussiest of cats will accept it without issue.

Regular use of Fureze can provide ongoing benefits by continuously supporting the digestive system and preventing the accumulation of hair. This is especially important during shedding seasons when cats tend to groom more frequently and are likely to ingest more hair.

How Antinol Works

Antinol contains a unique, patented lipid extract called PCSO-524®, derived from the New Zealand green-lipped mussel (Perna canaliculus). This carefully developed extract is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, sterol esters, and other beneficial lipids, which are known to support joint health and reduce inflammation naturally.

The primary role of Antinol is to help maintain healthy joint function by supporting the cartilage, ligaments, and synovial fluid that cushion and protect your cat’s joints. It works by targeting inflammation, a key factor contributing to joint discomfort and reduced mobility in cats. By incorporating Antinol into your pet’s routine, you may notice improvements in their ability to climb stairs, jump, or engage in daily activities.

Antinol is highly bioavailable, meaning it is easily absorbed by your cat’s body, ensuring maximum effectiveness. Its natural composition makes it safe for long-term use, even for cats with sensitivities or on other medications. It has been extensively tested for safety and efficacy, making it a trusted option for veterinarians and pet owners alike.
