20mg Kelapril for Cats and Dogs
Film-coated tablet Kelapril. Light yellow, oval divisible tablets scored on both sides. Each 20mg Kelapril tablet contains: Active substance Benazepril hydrochloride: 18.4mg benazepril (equivalent to 20mg benazepril hydrochloride)
Uses
Dogs: Treatment of congestive heart failure.
Cats: Reduction of proteinuria associated with chronic kidney disease.
Dosage and administration
Oral use. Kelapril should be given orally once daily, with or without food. The duration of treatment is unlimited.
Contraindications
Do not use Kelapril in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Do not use Kelapril in cases of hypotension, hypovolaemia, hyponatraemia or acute renal failure. Do not use Kelapril in cases of cardiac output failure due to aortic or pulmonary stenosis. Do not use in pregnancy or lactation.
Kelapril is a prescription-only therapeutic specifically developed for use in dogs and cats with chronic kidney failure that has been shown to delay the progression of renal disease, improve the general condition, prolong life and improve quality of life of the patient. Kelapril is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor intended for veterinary use in the symptomatic treatment of heart failure in dogs, efficacy for this condition has been demonstrated in controlled clinical trials with Kelapril.
